TORONTO—The Toronto Construction Association’s networking group of young professionals, the Young Construction Leaders (YCL), is teaming up to compete in the MLSE Team Up Challenge, which is being presented by Ford and is meant to “bring fun back” for kids living with cancer.
The challenge is an all-day sports event tournament where teams compete in soccer, basketball, and ball hockey. It takes place Sunday, June 12 at Downsview Park in Toronto.
The money raised through pledge donations from the event will be used to send more than 150 families from the Greater Toronto Area to Camp Trillium, which provides recreational experiences to kids living with cancer, their siblings and parents.
The YCL team is looking for more teams to join in as well as sponsors for the event. Each team will have eight to 10 players and is to raise a minimum $5,000 ($500 per person).
