PEO announces new president and council

TORONTO — Bob Dony was recently announced as the 98th president of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), the licensing and regulating body for professional engineers and engineering in the province.

Dony was installed during PEO’s 95th annual general meeting (AGM) at the Valhalla Inn in Thunder Bay, Ont. on April 22.

According to a release, Dony has served as PEO vice-president and councillor-at-large and is a past chair of both PEO’s academic requirements and legislation committees. He also represents PEO on Engineers Canada’s Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. As an associate professor in the School of Engineering at the University of Guelph, Dony is passionate about building a stronger profession for the next generation, adds the release.

At its AGM, PEO also introduced its council for the 2017-2018 term. Six women and 19 men will govern PEO’s 85,000 licence and certificate holders.
