Toronto — The Lean Construction Institute —Canada (LCI-C) has appointed Bob Hildenbrandt as co-chair of its council at its annual general meeting (AGM), held in conjunction with the LCI-C’s 2017 conference in Toronto May 3 to 5.
Hildenbrandt is chair of the Canadian Construction Association’s (CCA) Innovation and Technology Committee and served from 2014 to 2017 as chair of the Institute for BIM in Canada and its council buildingSMART Canada.
The LCI-C is a special committee of the CCA.
In his address to the AGM, Hildenbrandt highlighted lean’s importance and the momentum it is experiencing in Canada and worldwide, noted a CCA media statement.
"As a newcomer to this council, it has been fantastic to see the enthusiasm about lean in our industry. I am very excited to be stepping into this new role with LCI-C and to work with our council to help transform our industry," he said.
Hildenbrandt will share the chair’s role with Kathleen Lausman, a former Nunavut deputy minister of community and government services. He takes over the position from Serge Massicotte, president of Massicotte Construction.
Lausman commented, "Bob brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. I, and the entire council, look forward to working with Bob to advance the adoption of lean construction in Canada."
The LCI-C was founded in 2015 to promote lean principles in all forms of project delivery in the building industry in Canada.
