TORONTO — The provincial government is seeking public input on a draft set of long-term goals and objectives for the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH) Transportation Plan.
The input collected through the consultation will inform the development of transportation options for the way people and goods move throughout the region, explains a release. Throughout the project, residents, businesses and other organizations will have opportunities to have their say in developing a transportation system.
The plan is an initiative that will build on short- and medium-term projects, such as the GO Regional Express Rail, to create the next-generation transportation system in the GGH.
With a growing economy and more people moving to the region, this multi-year plan will look ahead to ensure Ontario’s transportation system is ready to address challenges such as climate change, while leveraging the benefits of new technologies, such as automated vehicles, adds the release.
Those interested in sharing their feedback on the draft long-term goals and objectives can fill out an online survey until Dec. 23.
