Daniel Moxom of Carpenters Loc. 27, Toronto, won the top award in the Floor Covering apprenticeship category at the 28th annual Carpenters Union Provincial Apprenticeship Contest held recently at the Carpenters and Allied Workers Local 1946 new training centre in London.

Alain Pilon, Local 93 Ottawa, placed second while third went to Josh Knight, Local 1946 London. In the drywall category Jamie Duncan of Local 18 Hamilton, was tops followed by James Theriault, Local 675 Toronto, and Jason Robinson, Local 397 Port Hope. Carpenters Local 27’s Justin Wright was the top carpenter at the two-day contest while Trevor Andes Local 785 placed second, Landon Broennle Local 1669 third.

Winners go on to the represent Ontario in the 22nd annual United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America National Apprenticeship Contest at Roundhouse Park in downtown Toronto Aug. 22-23. It is hosted by Carpenters Local 27.
