A worker preps rebar for the Imperial Plaza Condominiums on St. Clair Avenue West in Toronto, Ont.
Midtown Building Group Inc. is owner/developer and Toddglen Imperial Ltd. is construction manager. The project involves converting the old Imperial Oil Building into a 21-storey, 397-unit tower with townhomes and three levels of underground parking. The building will also have a media room, sound studio, two squash courts, fitness facilities, a multi-purpose games room and a pool. The project was designed by Hariri Pontarini Architects and OneSpace Unlimited Architects. The Design Agency is the interior designer and consultants are: Jablonsky, Ast & Partners (structural); Trace Engineering Ltd. (mechanical/electrical) and Janet Rosenberg & Associates Inc. (landscape). Subtrades include: Trifield Construction Co. (excavation); Drillco Foundations Co. Ltd. (shoring/caissons); Myer Salit Ltd. (rebar supply); Delgant (Civil) Ltd. (formwork); Innocon Inc. (concrete); The Restorers Group Inc. (masonry/stone restoration); Global Plumbing (mechanical); Mapleview Electric Co.; Allan Window Technologies; Viana Roofing & Sheet Metal (roofing) and Otis Canada Inc. (elevators).
