Construction is ongoing for the addition and retrofit to an existing 35,000-square-foot building at 888 Don Mills Rd. in Toronto.
Mirtren Construction Ltd. is the general contractor for the project and the owner is Kwan & Kwan Ltd. The work includes raising the existing building roof eight feet then closing it in, as well as a 15,000-square-foot single-storey addition. Completion on the project has been scheduled for January 2017. The project was designed by Stingray Architects Inc. and consultants are: KO & Partners Ltd. (structural); Spline Group (mechanical/electrical); Condeland Engineering Ltd. (civil) and Fleisher Ridout Partnership (landscape). Subcontractors include: Dolente Concrete & Drain Co.; Brownstone Masonry; Bordeaux Welding X-Perts (roof lifting/structural steel), Alturas Roofing; Westmount Storefront Systems; Nexus Elevator; General Sprinklers and O’Connor Electric.
