MONTREAL—SNC-Lavalin affiliate Saudi Arabian Kentz has announced that it has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Saudi Aramco for the expansion of asphalt production facilities at its Ras Tanura Refinery in Saudi Arabia.
Upon completion of the expansion, asphalt production capacity at the facility will increase from 22,000 barrels per day to 42,000 barrels per day, a media statement issued April 20 indicates.
Saudi Arabian Kentz is SNC-Lavalin’s in-kingdom entity. The project is expected to be completed in approximately 18 months.
SNC-Lavalin will provide the engineering and detailed design, procurement, installation, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning necessary for the project completion and plant startup.
