TORONTO—Fortress Real Developments has announced approvals for two housing developments by the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB).

First, Lamb Development Corporation, Hyde Park Homes and Fortress are joining forces on a condominium apartment development to be located at 53, 61 and 65 Ontario St. and 102 Berkley St. in Toronto.

The proposed development is being marketed as East Fifty Five, a 25-storey, 276-unit highrise building designed by Peter Clewes of ArchitectsAlliance.

The OMB approved the zoning bylaw amendment and granted site plan approval, subject to conditions, on Nov. 24.

The partners said that given substantial sales to date, they are looking to start construction in early 2017.

Further north, Tercot Communities, Cityzen Developments and Fortress are partnering on a housing development to be located at 13735 Highway 27 in Nobleton, in the Township of King.

The 52-acre property will include 34 net developable acres, and the plans call for 150 single-detached homes with an average size of 3,500 square feet.

In November, said the partners in a media statement, "The OMB concluded that the lands provide for a reasonable, logical and suitable expansion of the urban area boundary for greenfield development within Nobleton."
