MAGNETAWAN, ONT. — The Municipality of Magnetawan will get $67,676 to repair and renovate the Ahmic Harbour Community Hall, thanks to a boost from the federal government.
The Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program investment announcement was made last month by Navdeep Bains, minister of innovation, science and economic development and the minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario.
The funding will improve the centre’s accessibility and include kitchen updates, new washrooms, flooring, lighting, exterior siding and window replacement, states a release.
Built in 1986, the facility is an important community hub used for public gatherings, community celebrations and private functions, such as weddings and family reunions.
