TORONTO — EllisDon recently announced it has received a contract to build two new highrise office towers on Bay Street in Toronto as well as a new Metrolinx GO Bus Terminal as part of the 2.9-million-square-foot Bay Park Centre office complex.
The project will soon be renamed by the primary tenant, CIBC, which will relocate more than 15,000 employees to the buildings, located at 81 and 141 Bay Street, notes a media statement issued May 2.
EllisDon is currently undertaking preconstruction services for 81 Bay, a 49-storey joint development project by real estate firms Ivanhoe Cambridge and Hines.
Construction for phase one is slated to be completed mid-2020, at which time phase two involving the second building will break ground. Expected completion of the complex will be by 2023.
The project is targeting LEED Platinum certification.
