MISSISSAUGA, ONT. — The Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA) is hosting this year’s Certificate of Recognition (COR) Open House and OGCA Leadership Conference on March 2.
Those who attend will receive a COR update and hear from a panel of industry leaders as they share stories and experiences about their COR designation.
The newest inductees will also be welcomed into the League of Champions at the event. The initiative helps companies build a safety culture and be recognized for their leadership.
The agenda includes a variety of featured speakers such as Dr. Judy Agnew, senior vice-president of Safety Solutions at Aubrey Daniels International. According to a release, Agnew is a renowned leader in the field of behaviour-based safety, leadership and performance management, and is the author of three safety books. There will also be a presentation by Benjamin Amick III who will speak on Leading Occupational Health and Safety Performance Improvement in Construction.
Two panel discussions will also take place, one on technology billed as Using Technology to Improve Safety in the Workplace, and one on leadership titled Leading to Perform Effective Strategies in Workplace Safety Management.
Ontario Minister of Labour Kevin Flynn will provide an Occupational Health and Safety Update and there will be an announcement from Metrolinx, adds the release.
This year’s conference will be held at the Verdi Convention Centre, 3550 Derry Road East in Mississauga.
