Two executives added to CCA team in new roles

OTTAWA — The Canadian Construction Association (CCA) has added two new executives to the association — Rodrigue Gilbert, vice-president of public affairs, and Janet Slavin, vice-president of member value.

Rodrigue Gilbert

The additions will strengthen advocacy and member services, the association says.

In the new and expanded vice-president of public affairs role, Gilbert will be focused on increasing CCA’s influence with the federal government, improving collaboration with CCA partner association chief operating officers and amplifying CCA’s media presence, states a release.

Gilbert is originally from Quebec and joined the CCA after a role at Sussex Strategy Group where he was senior associate. Prior to that, he ran his own boutique government relations firm. He has held many senior positions in various federal departments advising ministers, the release indicates.

“CCA has a great reputation and is a major player in the Canadian economy,” said Gilbert in a statement. “I’m excited to build on this to deepen the relationships with the government and to increase CCA’s profile.”

In the newly created vice-president of member value role Slavin will be responsible for creating an “outstanding” member experience and identifying new services to better position CCA members at home and globally. Her experience with such diverse clients as Export Development Canada and the Canadian Real Estate Association will be instrumental in delivering a member-centric model, said the CCA.

“I love it that CCA recognizes the importance of providing value to its members,” said Slavin. “It’s a great time to join the organization and I look forward to working with my colleagues and partner associations to create outstanding results.”
