Traini appointed as new president of OGRA

OAKVILLE, ONT. — Chris Traini was named president of the Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) during its board of directors meeting at the end of February.

As the county engineer for the County of Middlesex, Traini brings years of experience and knowledge to the position, states a release issued by OGRA, adding he was elected to the board in 2014 to serve as director and represent the Southwestern Zone. He has lent his expertise to OGRA in many areas but in particular has been closely involved with the Minimum Maintenance Standards (MMS), adds the release.

Traini continues to serve as a committee member of the MMS Task Force and provides support and advice to staff and members in this area. His professional affiliations include the Professional Engineers of Ontario and National Association of County Engineers.

Traini is also involved with OGRA’s annual Guelph Road School as a course director. He has taught the Rural and Urban Design and Construction course and currently is the co-course director for the Overview of Municipal Roads Design and Construction.

“Chris has several objectives as the 2018-2019 OGRA president, which include building new relationships with associations and fostering current partnerships, supporting OGRA member services and promoting the value of Municipal DataWorks, The Winter Web App and The Road Authority,” states the OGRA release. “Chris is committed to continuing advocacy efforts and being the voice of municipalities with both re-elected and newly elected MPPs and building on the strong roster of volunteers OGRA works with to provide a robust education and training program.”
