TORONTO — The Commercial Real Estate Development Association Greater Toronto Chapter (NAIOP) recently announced the winning teams and projects in the 17th Annual Real Estate Excellence Awards competition.
The REX Awards competition is a recognition program that celebrates the achievements of the office, industrial, retail and mixed-use real estate industry in the Greater Toronto Area. The awards criteria focus on results (quality and performance), skills (teamwork, collaboration, innovation and creativity) and values (community and environmental awareness), said a statement.
The industrial development of the year award was presented to 2020 Logistics Drive and team Panattoni Development Company; Nexrock Design Build; CBRE Limited; Cushman and Wakefield; Greystone Managed Investments Inc.; and the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.
The industrial lease of the year was presented to 3160 Derry Road East and team Crestpoint Real Estate Investments Ltd.; Lennard Commercial Realty; EDEV Realty Advisors; Aird & Berlis LLP; and Leeswood Construction.
The Globe and Mail Centre won the office development of the year honours with team First Gulf Corporation; the Globe and Mail; Colliers International; OPTrust; and Diamond Schmitt Architects.
CIBC Square was given the office lease of the year award with team Ivanhoe Cambridge, Hines, CIBC, Cushman & Wakefield, Blackwood Partners; CBRE Limited; McCarthy Tetrault LLP; and Blake Cassels & Graydon LLP.
The investment deal of the year was presented to Hullmark and Sun Life JV: The Radiator and team Bentall Kennedy/Sun Life Investment Management; and Hullmark Developments Ltd.
The Canary District received the retail/mixed use development of the year honours along with Dundee Kilmer Developments LP and LiveWorkLearnPlay Inc.
