MISSISSAUGA, ONT. — After about eight months as chief operating officer for the Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA), David Caplan has left his position and is no longer with the organization, an ORBA spokesperson has confirmed.
Caplan, Ontario’s first infrastructure minister, was named COO in November 2017 and officially took over the role Dec. 4.
“David joining ORBA reflected our recognition of the region’s scope of the work of our association today and our continued commitment to the improvement of transportation infrastructure in Ontario and that remains our focus going forward,” said Andrew Hurd, director of policy and stakeholder relations at ORBA.
Nobody has been appointed to fill the position at this time, he added.
Not surprising. This is an organization that appears dysfunctional with huge staff turnovers.
