HHCA elects youngest president at 100th AGM
HAMILTON-HALTON CONSTRUCTION ASSOCIATION — Outgoing Hamilton-Halton Construction Association president Kim McCarthy, XGC Consulting Inc., congratulates incoming president Ryan Kneisz, G.S. Wark General Contractors, on his new role. Kneisz is the youngest president ever elected by the association.

HAMILTON, ONT. — The Hamilton-Halton Construction Association (HHCA) elected Ryan Kneisz, a partner in G.S. Wark General Contractors, as president at its 100th annual general meeting and dinner Feb. 20.

Kneisz, HHCA’s youngest ever elected president, has been involved with the HHCA for over 10 years, serving as chair of both the Electronic Plansroom Committee and the Education Committee before joining the executive.

During his address to the membership, Kneisz focused on moving the association into the future. His remarks touched on the importance of health and safety in the construction industry, how technology has moved into the procurement space and will continue to change the way the association’s members do business, and the importance of participating in advocacy efforts at all levels, stated an HHCA release.

Kneisz has identified a governance review and strategic planning as near-term goals.

“The HHCA was founded in 1920; the industry, and the needs of our members, have changed a lot since then. We need to ensure that it’s leading best practices and current market data that are driving our business decisions,” said Kneisz in a statement.

“As an organization we need to be responsive to our members and our industry, our governance model needs to support that.”

Kneisz succeeded Kim McCarthy of XGC Consulting Inc.
