CCA urges members to support needs of health care workers

OTTAWA — The Canadian Construction Association (CCA) has asked their provincial and local association partners to reach out to member firms to collect and donate important protective equipment in response to requests from hospitals across the country.

CCA has been in contact with the Government of Canada to offer assistance at a national level as the federal government manages the COVID-19 crisis, indicates a CCA release issued March 25. In-demand equipment includes some that are routinely used in construction, including n95-rated, or higher, other masks and eye protection.

“Construction has been, and will continue to be, a significant contributor to our communities,” said Mary Van Buren, CCA president, in a statement.

“At #CDNConstructionGives, there are hundreds of examples of how our member firms and their employees make a difference. From food banks and scholarships to pet shelters and everything in between, we are there for our communities.”
