MIRABEL, QUE. — Lauak Canada, a Quebec-based manufacturer of tubes used in the aeronautics sector, has announced plans to expands its factory at Mirabel, Que. into an advanced technology aeronautics centre of excellence.
The expanded facility northwest of Montreal will include a new innovation research office, stated a Feb. 21 release.
The firm, which is a subsidiary of French family business Lauak, manufactures tubes to transport fuel, water, air and liquids feeding various airplane systems.
The expansion project will be supported by a $3 million funding package from the federal government that will enable the firm to acquire new equipment.
The repayable contribution has been granted under the Canada Economic Development for Quebec Region’s Regional Economic Growth through Innovation program.
