To help essential services and hazardous industries navigate through the pandemic, eCompliance is introducing a Complimentary COVID-19 Product Offering within its mobile platform to help businesses proactively manage the crisis.
“These updates to our mobile app allow teams to rise to the COVID-19 challenge by reducing exposure to the virus and keeping essential businesses running as smoothly as possible,” said Adrian Bartha, founder of eCompliance and CEO of Alcumus – North America, adding the “safety nerds” at eCompliance are working hard to support customers and the community.
“In a way it’s like a light version of our product. They are still downloading the app like anyone else but it’s more focused on the COVID context and ensuring that they are safe and healthy during the pandemic.”
The Toronto-based safety software company is offering the response package to a number of industries including construction, energy, municipal services, manufacturing and others free of charge.
“One benefit is they will have something that any member of their workforce can use day one to help encourage and drive positive behaviours on jobsites for people who are working,” Bartha explained.
“The other thing is being able to see the data from this, from the frontlines. For a lot of the companies, it will be really interesting because a lot of leaders right now are flying blind.”
The package includes two e-learning courses — COVID-19: Protect Your Employees (for all employees) and COVID-19: Protect Yourself and Others (for managers/supervisors).
It also includes a mobile app with six COVID-19 Digital eCompliance Forms — End of Day Prevention: Daily Acknowledgement of Workplace Health and Safety; Start of Day Prevention: Daily Acknowledgement of Workplace Health and Safety; an Employee Self-Assessment Questionnaire; Employer Readiness: Guidelines and Best Practices; an Incident Reporting Form; and Health and Safety Toolbox Talk.
“For our customers, we have adapted our product to incorporate a lot of guides and content around COVID so that companies can put the controls…measure it with our app and also distribute an online COVID course,” Bartha said. “We have rolled that out complimentary for non-customers as well…inviting companies that are working in any essential industry, that includes construction, to use our app and our online training for free.”
Safety leaders interested in the Complimentary Product Offering need to request access through the eCompliance website.
They will also need to speak to a representative about their use case to begin implementation for three months.
“We expect we will be spending a lot of time over the next few months onboarding these companies and taking them through the training because even though we are a software company we walk people through the steps of how to roll this out for the workforce,” added Bartha.
“We just want to help them get a few steps ahead on this and respond to the fact that everyone is working onsite or at home right now so this does create a consistent way of communicate on COVID or all safety-related matters for all these people that are all different places.”
He does see a few silver-linings coming out of the pandemic for many construction companies.
“A lot of companies are forced to transition from their paper processes whether they like it or not, so we are giving them the ability to do that more simply,” Bartha pointed out.
“This has accelerated some of the things they wanted to do anyway such as have a safety system or program that is fully digital.
“It has also accelerated some other safety initiatives within certain companies in terms of communication flow on safety because now these companies are having daily meetings on COVID. It’s changing the way a lot of companies are communicating this stuff now and when the crisis is over, some of those new ways of communicating probably won’t go away.”
