Proptech firm launches new homebuying online platform

Proptech firm launches new homebuying online platform

TORONTO — Avesdo Technologies of Toronto has announced the launch of what it is calling North America’s first online homebuying platform, giving consumers access to new and pre-construction homes from the development community.

The platform, called OffPlan, gives developers the ability to share inventory with Canadian realtors and buyers and take payments online, states an April 16 release.

The timing is appropriate given that many presentation and sales centres have had to close their doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Avesdo said. Buyers and realtors can browse and reserve new construction homes as well as make payments by credit card through OffPlan, allowing a purchase to take place without a face-to-face meeting in the presentation and sales centres.

Belford Properties and Aoyuan International are among the developers who have signed on. Avesdo said it plans to have 200 new and pre-construction projects on the platform this year.
