Credit Valley Conservation receives Intact grant
Intact Financial Corporation announced this morning it is committing $1.3 million to five Canadian charitable partners to help create more sustainable communities. The Intact Adaptation Action Grants are being awarded to projects that are helping communities adapt to floods, wildfires and extreme heat. One grant recipient, Credit Valley Conservation based in Ontario’s Region of Peel, will test a smart blue roof on its office headquarters to reduce flooding and urban heat and promote rainwater reuse.
Lim to retire from OFIA
The Ontario Forest Industries Association (OFIA) yesterday announced that its longtime CEO and president Jamie Lim plans to retire at the end of the year. The OFIA also announced the appointment of Ian Dunn as interim president and CEO effective Jan. 1, 2021. OFIA member companies produce such products as dimensional lumber, pulp and paper and paper packaging and engineered wood products and undertake research and development into technologies such as engineered soils and organic mulch.
Feds report on Habitat partnership
The federal government will be announcing an update on results of the partnership between the CMHC and Habitat for Humanity Canada tomorrow morning. Watch for a livestream beginning at 9 a.m.
