Fengate closes on Texas wind project 

Oakville, Ont.-based Fengate Asset Management recently announced financial close on its acquisition of a majority interest in the Amadeus 250 megawatt wind project in Kent, Fisher and Stonewall counties, Texas. The project recently reached commercial operation. Fengate is managing the investment on behalf of the Fengate Core Infrastructure Fund III and its affiliated entities, including an investment fund owned by LIUNA’s Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada. Fengate also recently reached commercial operation of its Weaver wind project in Maine. 

 

WeirFoulds digs into excess soil regulation 

Lexology today posted a blog from WeirFoulds outlining the highlights of Ontario’s new regulations for excess soil. On Jan. 1, the On-Site and Excess Soil Management Regulation 406/19 will come into force in addition to new Rules for Soil Management and Excess Soil Quality Standards. The blog states that the regulation is intended to ensure that excavated soil is beneficially reused, if possible, and that contaminated soil does not find its way onto otherwise clean sites. 

 

Atlas announces business development hire 

Atlas Engineered Products of Nanaimo, B.C. yesterday announced the appointment of Paul Andreola to the company’s board of directors. Andreola has 20 years of business development and financial markets experienceAEP operates in Canada’s truss and engineered products industry. 

 

Health officials to discussion Ontario vaccine ethics 

Ontario’s Associate Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Barbara Yaffe will be joined by COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution Task Force members Dr. Dirk Huyercoordinator of the Provincial Outbreak Response and Dr. Maxwell Smith, bioethicist, today to discuss the province’s Ethical Framework for COVID-19 vaccine prioritization and distribution. The briefing will be broadcast on the premier’s YouTube channel starting at 1 p.m.
