O’Regan to address prospectors

Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources Seamus O’Regan will address the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada 2021 virtual conference today at 11 a.m. O’Regan will speak at the conference’s open ceremony. The conference runs from today to March 11.  

 

Women in technology weigh in on hiring trends

A survey of Canadian women working in technology released today by SAP Canada found that 44 per cent of respondents agree that technology companies do not really want to hire women. Due to the pandemic, nearly half (48 per cent) of women in technology agree that their career growth or goals have been stunted, higher than those not in the technology sector (31 per cent). Over half (53 per cent) of younger generations are more likely to agree that their career growth or goals have been stunted than older generations (37 per cent). But women in technology are more likely to agree they feel supported by their company (63 per cent versus 51 per cent in non-technology roles) and feel more productive (54 per cent versus 33 per cent in non-technology roles).

Coldwell Banker Complete Real Estate announced the release of The Report: 2021 Global Luxury Market Insights, an analysis of emerging luxury markets and buyers across North America. In the Canadian section, Calgary was noted as one of the Canadian markets to watch in 2021.  

 

Modern Niagara to host zero-carbon arena webinar

AMPED Sports Lab and Ice Complex in Ottawa has announced a webinar on how the arena attained Zero Carbon Building – Performance certification. The facility underwent energy reforms led by Modern Niagara Group Inc. Modern Niagara’s Kevin Spencer and Ronak Mozayyan will host the presentation on March 23 from 1 to 2 p.m. ET.
