Constructors, engineers honoured on Best Managed list

TORONTO – Construction and engineering firms were well represented among new winners as Deloitte Canada announced its 2021 Canada’s Best Managed Companies awards program.

Among the new winners unveiled May 5 were Averna, De La Fontaine, Magna IV Engineering, MP Lundy Construction, Muraflex, ORAM Plomberie du batiment, Priestly Demolition Inc. and State Window Corporation.

“In what may be the most challenging year for Canadian businesses since the program’s inception, the 2021 Best Managed winners are a shining example of the importance of leadership, innovation and resilience in the face of uncertainty,” said Kari Lockhart, national co-leader of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies program and partner with Deloitte Private, in a statement.

“These companies should not only be extremely proud of this designation, but for their organizational grit, continued adaptability and unwavering commitment to their people during a year when it was needed most.”

Marie-Claude Allaire, co-president of ORAM, commented, “We are so proud to have joined the ranks of the most respected companies in Canada. This award recognizes the efforts we’ve made to pursue excellence in our business goals as well as in sustainable development and our impact on society.”

Maple Reinders was recognized for the 11th consecutive year.

“The enterprising mindset is at the heart of our origins and continues to be the driving force to our success,” said Harold Reinders, the firm’s president and CEO. “We are thrilled to be recognized by the Best Managed Companies Award, for all we do to achieve and surpass our client’s goals.”

Montoni Group was named for the 20th year in a row.

“True to our end-to-end sustainability pledge, Montoni designs and develops real estate projects meeting the most stringent standards for architecture, engineering, technology performance and occupant wellness,” said Dario Montoni, founding president of the Quebec-based developer.
