This month’s CanaData video is an interview with ConstructConnect Chief Economist Alex Carrick about the ongoing war in Ukraine and its effects on the global and Canadian economy.
Commodities will be hit especially hard by Russia’s invasion, Carrick said, given Ukraine’s position as a leading source of wheat, potash and other agricultural materials.
Carrick also referred to the idea that generals often fight the previous war when new approaches are required, and that the extensive sanctions Canada, the United States and may European states have imposed against Russia are a new and different form of economic combat.
