ST. JOHN’S, N.L. — The federal government has announced spending of over $40 million on small craft harbours across Newfoundland and Labrador this year.
The allocation announced in a July 5 release will include funding for a multi-year harbour development project in St. John’s. The Fort Amherst Small Boat Basin in that city is located in the main commercial fish landing site for the 65-foot-plus fleet in the province.
Planning for the project began in 2016, and improvements are scheduled to be completed by March 2020.
