Fengate/LIUNA announce development above Toronto rail lands
Fengate Asset Management today announced a plan to develop a 16-acre community featuring highrise residential, affordable housing, greenspace, retail and entertainment venues above the rail corridor south of Front Street between Bathurst Street and Blue Jays Way in Toronto. Fengate is representing the LIUNA Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada, CRAFT Development Group and Kingsmen Group Inc on the plan, called the ORCA Project. Infrastructure Ontario presents Market Update
Infrastructure Ontario will be delivering a Market Update April 8 with an update on its project pipeline. Infrastructure Minister Laurie Scott will be on hand for the presentation, which starts at 10 a.m.
Taiwan Cement targets carbon neutral product
Taiwan Cement today announced a plan to spend to US$350 million to build a battery factory in Kaohsiung, the largest city in southern Taiwan. The project is pursuant to the firm’s 2020 Climate Ambition commitment to deliver carbon neutral concrete products in 2050 as part of a Global Cement and Concrete Association initiative.
Trudeau, Ford schedule COVID updates
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will address the federal response to the COVID-19 pandemic at a media availability event today at 11:30 a.m. EDT. Ontario Premier Doug Ford will be joined by Minister of Health Christine Elliott and Solicitor General Sylvia Jones at a separate COVID update at 1 p.m. EDT.
