ULI Toronto hosts tall building webinar
The Toronto chapter of the Urban Land Institute presents a webinar on tall buildings in Toronto today billed as Standing Tall: The Resilient Story of Toronto’s Tall Towers. The event will also have a global perspective with a presentation by author and fellow of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, James Parakh. The event starts at 12 p.m. EDT.
IO Market Update set for this morning
Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Ontario Infrastructure Minister Laurie Scott will be presenting their quarterly Market Update today beginning at 10:30 a.m. EDT. The presentation will offer an update on IO’s priority projects.

Ottawa project to use wood recovered from tornado
The federal and provincial governments yesterday announced funding for construction of an outdoor wood pavilion in the Trend-Arlington neighbourhood in Ottawa. The Government of Canada is allocating $102,000 to the project, the Government of Ontario is contributing $85,000 and the Trend Arlington Community Association is providing $68,000. The project will use wood milled from fallen trees collected after the Sept. 21, 2018 tornado.
85th Spiritleaf store to open this weekend
Inner Spirit Holdings Ltd. today announced that its 83rd, 84th and 85th Spiritleaf stores are set to open in Toronto, Kemptville, Ont. and Calgary this weekend. Spiritleaf operates the most cannabis stores under one brand in Canada and will be the first retailer to achieve the 85-store milestone.
