DURHAM REGION, ONT. — Three new projects in the Region of Durham have been approved under the Government of Canada’s Clean Water and Wastewater Fund.
In total, 24 new projects have been approved by the Government of Canada in 12 communities across Ontario.
The federal government is providing approximately $6.5 million, the provincial government is providing over $3.2 million and the recipients will cover any remaining costs.
In Durham, the federal government is providing $1.1 million — 50 per cent of funding for the projects. The provincial government is providing over $556,000 of total eligible costs and the Region will provide the balance of funding.
According to a release issued by Infrastructure Canada, three existing watermains in Oshawa will be replaced and upgraded with modern infrastructure.
