OAKVILLE, ONT. — Three levels of government including the Regional Municipality of Halton have announced funding for two projects in Halton that will provide insulation of water supply lines.
The federal spending of $4 million covers half of the cost of the projects and comes from the federal-provincial Clean Water and Wastewater Fund, said a recent release. The provincial government is providing over $2 million and the Regional Municipality of Halton is also contributing.
The projects are intended to protect water services during cold weather by insulating supply lines in Georgetown, Halton Hills, Acton, Oakville and Burlington.
In addition, there will be $320,000 in federal funding and $160,250 in provincial allocations for water and wastewater projects in six other communities across Ontario.
