Brockville hospital project reaches height milestone

BROCKVILLE, ONT. — The new patient tower at Brockville General Hospital reached its highest point of construction recently.

Deputy Premier and Minister of Health and Long-Term Care Christine Elliot was joined by Minister of Infrastructure Monte McNaughton and Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Steve Clark at the site in Brockville, Ont. to mark the milestone on May 17.

The provincial government is investing up to $159 million towards the redevelopment of Brockville General Hospital’s Charles Street site, which includes a new four-storey, 93-bed inpatient tower, as well as renovations to the hospital’s existing facilities.

The project will include inpatient services for mental health, palliative and complex continuing care, as well as rehabilitation and restorative care, indicates a release. Construction began in spring 2018 and is expected to be completed in fall 2020.
