CHIBOUGAMEAU, QUE. — The governments of Canada and Quebec have announced water and wastewater projects in communities across the province in the past week.
The federal contributions are through the Green Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada Plan while the provincial support is through its Fonds pour l’infrastructure municipale d’eau (FIMEAU) funding program.
The Government of Quebec’s FIMEAU fund will enable total investments of $1.5 billion. Two more project submission periods are planned for 2022 and 2024.
Announcements were made in Chibougameau, the Outaouais region, the Estrie region, the Chaudiere-Appalaches region, the Abitibi-Temiscamingue region, the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, the Monteregie region, the Mauricie region and the Laurentides region.
