TORONTO — Toronto Police continue to investigate an incident that occurred on Lakeshore Boulevard in Toronto at Ontario Place Boulevard this morning in which an overhead pedestrian bridge was damaged purportedly by a passing vehicle.
Police received a call at approximately 8:30 a.m. with word that there was debris on Lakeshore Boulevard caused by a collision. A crane was mentioned in the initial call and a subsequent report indicated that a truck with a crane had collided with the bridge but police reported over the noon hour that engineers are still onsite investigating the cause of the damage and would not confirm that a crane was involved.
Lakeshore has been closed for the investigation. There were no injuries reported.
