ORBA calls on Ontarians to submit photos for #ONGreatRoads contest

ORBA calls on Ontarians to submit photos for #ONGreatRoads contest

MISSISSAUGA, ONT. – The Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA) is inviting Ontarians to take part in the #ONGreatRoads contest by sharing photos and stories of their favourite provincial roads for a chance to win prizes.

Original photos submitted through Twitter, Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn using the hashtag #ONGreatRoads will be entered into a weekly draw for a $100 gas card.

Participants can enter the contest from June 29 to Aug. 3 by posting an original photo of an open Ontario road not a construction site to a social media platform of your choice and including the following in the caption:

  • Twitter: Tag @ONRoadBuilders and/or @OAPC_ON_Asphalt and use hashtag #ONGreatRoads
  • Facebook: Tag @Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA) and use hashtag #ONGreatRoads
  • LinkedIn: Tag @Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA) and/or @Ontario Asphalt Pavement Council and use hashtag #ONGreatRoads
  • Instagram: Tag @ONRoadBuilders and use hashtag #ONGreatRoads

All photos should be taken while as a passenger or when at the side of the road and not while driving, indicates an ORBA release. The winning photos will be featured in the fall 2021 edition of ORBA’s Road Builder magazine and the Ontario Asphalt Pavement Council’s ASPHALTopics magazine.

The contest last ran as a campaign in 2016 launched by the Ontario Hot Mix Producers’ Association, now the Ontario Asphalt Pavement Council.

“We are very pleased to relaunch the #ONGreatRoads campaign. Our roads are an integral part of our lives, and each road has a story behind it,” said ORBA marketing and communications director Abigail Wright Pereira in a statement. “This campaign gives people the opportunity to tell the story of their favorite road.”
