Worker dies from fall at Leamington-area greenhouse

STAPLES, ONT. — A worker died this week after falling from the roof of a greenhouse under construction near Leamington, Ont.

The Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD) was notified of an incident that occurred Jan. 10 at a construction site at Lebo Farms in Staples, Ont. The employer is Fhes Ontario.

The worker, said to be 27 years old, was reportedly pronounced dead on the scene.

An MLTSD inspector attended the scene and one order and one requirement were issued. The MLTSD’s investigation continues.
