Inquest announced into the death of worker on road project

ST. THOMAS, ONT. — An inquest will be held into the death of 55-year-old Brian Daniel, who died while working on a road construction project in St. Thomas, Ont.

Regional Supervising Coroner for West Region, London Office, Dr. Rick Mann, announced the inquest which will examine the circumstances surrounding Daniel’s death on July 2, 2014. An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act. It is expected to last four days and to hear from approximately eight witnesses, states a release issued by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
