OTTAWA — An inquest will be held into the death of Jesus Revilla Sanchez, 38, who died on Dec. 5, 1996 at the Great War Memorial Hospital as a result of injuries sustained while working at a construction site near Perth, Ont.

Dr. Louise McNaughton-Filion, regional supervising coroner for east region, Ottawa office made the announcement Dec. 1.

An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act and will examine the events surrounding his death, indicates a release issued by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.

Dr. David Cameron will preside as inquest coroner and Michael Blain will be counsel to the coroner.

Details regarding the date and location will be provided at a later date when the information becomes available, adds the release.
