TORONTO—The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) is inviting businesses with less than 50 people to submit an application for the Small Business Health and Safety Leadership Awards.
The annual awards recognize all of the efforts, big or small, made by small businesses to keep their team, their customers and their communities safe. The deadline to apply is July 9.
Small business leaders in Ontario are encouraged to apply and share their health and safety success story from the last year, the steps they took to make big or small changes and the measures they implemented to make their workplaces safer, states a release.
The top three businesses will win a cash prize. Gold wins $5,000, silver will receive $3,000 and bronze will win $2,000. They will also be recognized at a ceremony in November. The first place winner also will be featured in a promotional video that will be shared on the WSIB’s website and across social media.
“Faced with the challenges due to closures, restrictions, and other pandemic-related uncertainties, the resilience and resourcefulness of so many small businesses has been nothing short of inspiring,” states the release. “All of the small improvements, flexible adjustments, and the big changes they’ve made to keep workplaces and communities healthy and safe has helped that flicker of light on the horizon beam a bit brighter for all of us.”
