TORONTO — High pressure gas lines have “blown” at a restaurant near Blue Jays Way and Wellington Street in Toronto.

According to media reports, the natural gas line was hit by construction crews, but a Toronto Police Operations spokesperson could not confirm the information.

The incident occurred at 10 a.m. July 12. A Tweet from Toronto Police Operations states fire crews have advised to evacuate the area. A few highrise condominiums near the Rogers Centre were evacuated. Officers have also closed access roads in the area. The TTC brought in buses to provide shelter for affected residents.

The situation was cleared by 11:30 a.m.
