New Creaform plant, HQ triples production capacity

LEVIS, QUE. — Engineering services firm Creaform has announced the official opening of its $20-million plant and headquarters in the Innoparc Levis in Levis, Que.

Creaform develops, manufactures and sells 3-D portable measurement technologies and specializes in engineering services such as 3-D scanning, reverse engineering, quality control, non-destructive testing, product development and numerical simulation, noted a recent media statement.

The new 76,000-square-foot facility triples production capacity and doubles the space available for new staff, the statement said.

Green building techniques enabled Creaform and constructors Coarchitecture and Ronam Construction to reduce the facility’s environmental footprint by half and achieve LEED certification.

Green building features include abundant natural light, passive solar water heating, high-efficiency mechanical systems and a recreation-friendly location near bike paths and walking trails.

R&D, manufacturing and assembly, engineering services and administrative operations have all been relocated to the new building, along with part of the sales and support team.

The new facility at 4700 rue de la Pascaline has been in operation since Nov. 20.

Along with its headquarters and innovation centre in Levis, Creaform operates an innovation centre in Grenoble, France and has direct sales operations in the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Brazil, China, Japan, Thailand, Korea and Singapore.

Creaform is a unit of AMETEK Ultra Precision Technologies, a division of AMETEK Inc.
