MISSISSAUGA, ONT. — EllisDon is the recipient of the Project Excellence Award presented by the London and District Construction Association for work completed on the Western University Interdisciplinary Research Building (WUIRB) in London, Ont.
The awards recognize projects that have been designed and built through teamwork, fortitude, and commitment to the community, states a release issued by EllisDon.
The project was recognized in the institutional projects over $20 million category at the end of March.
The WUIRB is a new campus facility that brings together faculty, staff and students from across the campus to consolidate two major groups — the Research Cluster for Cognitive Neuroscience and the Rotman Institute of Philosophy.
The seven-storey building will create 131,000 square feet of space for laboratories, classrooms, room for teaching and research and a public plaza.
