WELLAND, ONT. — Niagara College has officially opened a brand new 500-seat Student Commons at its Welland Campus as part of its orientation week activities.
The new commons is part of a recently completed $15 million addition and renovation to the Simcoe building and includes seating, six food vendors and student collaborative and study space, states a release issued by Niagara College.
The new Student Commons is part of the college’s $64 million campus redevelopment project that will provide new and expanded facilities at the Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake campuses to support growth, enhance the student experience and expand Niagara College’s research and innovation capabilities, adds the release.
Projects include the recently opened Green Automotive Lab at the Welland Campus, which opened in the spring, and the Marotta Family Innovation Complex at the Niagara-on-the-Lake campus, set to open in early 2019.
