Window installation is moving up on the York Region Administrative Centre Annex in Newmarket, Ont. General contractor for the eight-storey building is EllisDon Corp. and the centre’s opening is planned for 2020.

The new facility will consolidate services including public health clinics, social services, Ontario Works, housing services, provincial offences courts, the York Small Business Enterprise Centre and Access York customer service. There will also be an enclosed pedestrian bridge connecting it to the existing administrative building. The owner is the Regional Municipality of York and the project was designed by WZMH Architects. Consultants are: Entuitive (structural); The HIDI Group (mechanical); Mulvey & Banani International Inc. (electrical); WSP/MMM Group Limited (civil/transportation); Figure 3 (interior); and Dillon Consulting (landscape). Subcontractors include: Metric Contracting Services Corporation (excavation); Gamma NA (curtainwall); Res Precast; Geo. A. Kelson Company Limited (mechanical); and OZZ Electric Inc.
