Frontier Lithium to build concentrator north of Red Lake

SUDBURY, ONT. — Frontier Lithium has announced it is moving quickly on exploration and testing of the Spark lithium deposit, part of its PAK Lithium Project located within “Electric Avenue” in northwestern Ontario, with plans including construction of an early-phase concentrator.

The PAK Lithium Project encompasses 26,774 hectares located 175 kilometres north of Red Lake, notes the Frontier website. First discovered by Ontario government geologists in the late 1990s, the property includes the Pakeagama Lake granitic pegmatite which has significant values of lithium, cesium, tantalum and rubidium.

The deposit has adequate size and grades at surface amenable to open pit mining to base feasibility work on to potentially construct a mine and milling operation at the site, says the junior miner.

Frontier’s latest resource estimate was prepared by WSP Canada.

The phase one concentrator will be built in order to demonstrate the PAK Lithium Deposits’ potential to produce up to 2,000 tonnes Lithium Carbonate Equivalent of premium spodumene concentrates for glass producers, noted a statement.

A total of 2499.5 metres of drilling in nine holes and 288.4 metres of channel cuts in 12 channels were used in the resource estimate.

“Located in Ontario’s premium lithium jurisdiction, the Electric Avenue, this second deposit on the PAK Lithium project supports our exploration model and highlights the resource upside potential for any required expansion in the future,” commented Trevor Walker, president and CEO of Frontier Lithium, in a statement.
