OPG announces electrification subsidiary

Ontario Power Generation has announced the launch of a new subsidiary, PowerON Energy Solutions, that will provide electrification and charging infrastructure to enable municipal transit agencies and other corporate fleets to power their vehicles using clean electricity. PowerON will undertake large-scale electrification projects including infrastructure delivery and project management; operations and maintenance; onsite generation, battery storage and back-up power; and smart charging and energy management.

 

OCS conference starts today

The Ontario Construction Secretariat starts its two-day, in-person AGM and conference today at Queen’s Landing in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The event is sold out with a waitlist for potential delegates. Former CBC new anchor Peter Mansbridge will be a keynote speaker at the event.

 

SNC-Lavalin lands U.K. water management contract

SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. has announced it has been appointed by U.K.-based South East Water to lead its engineering, environmental and asset management investment program. The £60-million, five-year program will see the Montreal-based firm provide services across two major lots of South East Water’s AMP7 program: engineering, environmental and water resources delivery services; and asset management, hydraulic modelling, leakage and program assurance services.

 

Starlight, AIMCo acquire Vancouver property

Starlight Investments and Alberta Investment Management Corporation have announced that they have completed the acquisition of a Class A, highrise commercial building totalling 156,000 square feet in downtown Vancouver. The property, located at 1138 Melville St., is 100-per-cent leased to the federal government with a remaining lease term of 7.2 years.
