EllisDon Corporation is the Construction Manager for the Toronto   Waterfront   Revitalization   Corporation   (TWRC) Cherry Street Storm Water and Lake Filling Project (CSLF) and Port Lands Flood Protection Project (PLFP). EllisDon invites eligible companies, firms or joint ventures to submit qualifications in providing Environmental and Geotechnical related services for the PLFPEI project, located in the city of Toronto:

EllisDon intends to qualify up to four (4) Environmental and/or Geotechnical Consulting Firms to a Vendor of Record list for a five (5) year term. Those qualified will be invited, from time to time, to provide quotation for environmental and geotechnical borehole drilling and testing in accordance with EllisDon’s specific instructions on a project by project basis; specific details will be provided when needed.

Interested proponents may indicate whether they wish to be considered solely to provide environmental consulting services, geotechnical consulting services or both.

Proponents selected to provide Environmental Consulting Services must be familiar with all relevant environmental regulations and practices including Ontario Regulation (O. Reg.) 153/04 and associated sampling and analytical requirements. The selected proponents must have demonstrated experience in completing, but not limited to, the following services:

  • Phase Two Environmental Site Assessments

Proponents selected to provide Geotechnical Consulting Services must be familiar with all relevant provisions of the Ontario Building Code (OBC). The selected proponents must have demonstrated experience in completing, but not limited to, the following services:

  • Geotechnical investigations including overburden drilling, rock coring, seismic cone penetration testing and other advanced in situ data collection capabilities and knowledge, soil index testing, review and evaluation of advanced geotechnical testing results, and analysis and reporting of geotechnical conditions;
  • Geophysical services; and
  • Ground Improvement Strategies.

The Proponent must supply the required equipment and personnel (with similar previous experience) to be able to deliver the scope of work within the required timeframes and specifications.

Proponents must specifically confirm their commitment to respond to demands for services within five (5) business days of an EllisDon representative contacting the selected proponent. The response shall include cost quotations and schedules appropriate to the task to be delivered.

Where the anticipated contract value is greater than $250,000 the proponent will be required to enroll in EllisDon’s corporate Subcontractor Default Insurance Program, or have the ability to bond with an established surety company.
