MANDATORY SITE VISIT
A Mandatory Site Visit will be held starting at 201 City Centre Drive, on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Vendors are to assemble in the 201 City Centre Drive visitor’s parking lot and proceeding to a bus for transportation to key project sites.
All vendors’ representatives will be expected to arrive equipped with hard hat, reflective vest, safety glasses and CSA rated safety boots to participate in the site visit. Failure to wear the proper safety equipment may result in disqualification from completing the site visit and disqualification of your Vendor submission.
NOTE: A maximum of three representatives from each prequalified General Contractor firm (including their prequalified tunnel and microtunnel subcontractors) noted below may attend the site visit. Vendors other than the pre-qualified vendors who wish to attend the site visit must pre-register with the Region at firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, November 24, 2017 in order to determine bus capacity requirements. The Region reserves the right to limit attendance by Vendors other than the pre-qualified vendors to levels they determine, at their sole discretion, to be reasonable.
NON-MANDATORY INSPECTION OF ROCK CORES
Vendors will be able to view the rock cores that were garnered throughout the geotechnical investigations. Rock cores will be available for viewing during the tendering period at the offices of WSP Canada Inc., located at 51 Constellation Court, Toronto, M9W-1K4. Vendors who wish to view the rock cores shall arrive at one of the following predetermined dates and times:
November 30, 2017 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM
December 14, 2017 from 10:00AM to 3:00PM
Due to the volume of cores garnered throughout the geotechnical investigations, it is impractical for all of the rock cores to be displayed for review at once. As a result, Vendors are required to review the geotechnical information provided in the Contract Documents and identify the specific rock core runs that they wish to observe. Vendors are to submit their lists of rock core runs to the Agency, as well as their preferred dates and times for observing the cores. The Agency will then confirm timing for core visits, noting that while all efforts will be made to accommodate preferred dates and times for observing the cores, depending on the response from Vendors, this may not always be possible and alternative dates and times may need to be proposed.
