The objective of this project is to improve the waters and shoreline of Recreation Bay by implementing flow improvement measures, restoring wildlife habitat, and enhancing community enjoyment of the Bay. Flow improvements include dredging excess sediment and harvesting aquatic plants. Shoreline restoration includes the creation of two natural zones, invasive species control, and plantings. Human enhancements will include a beach, improved access points, resting areas and beautification measures. Interested contractors will be required to complete a qualification form as part of the tender process. Preference will be given to contractors that partner with local sub-contractors, have previous experience working within Indigenous communities and have conducted dredging and ecological restoration works similar in nature to the works outlined in the tender package. All contract submissions, correspondence, and reporting must be provided in English.
