Online planning tool provides up-to-date information on thousands of projects

Contractors will now have easier access to information about up-coming and planned construction projects as a result of collaboration between the Vancouver Regional Construction Association and Reed Construction Data.
The VRCA Pre-Bid Service, launched on June 15th, provides the latest information on dozens of projects each week. Reed Construction Data’s team of reporters track thousands of projects and provide up-to-date information on the projects that have changed in the previous week.
Project details, including scope, category, owner, architect and status, are updated through various stages from conception to tendering.
“This is a critical component for our busy industry and an exciting extension of the services that VRCA offers to contractors and suppliers in the region,” says Keith Sashaw, president of Vancouver Regional Construction Association. “We have been offering access to drawings and specifications for over 75 years, but now we can provide invaluable information about projects before they go to tender.”
The Pre-Bid Service allows contractors to plan which projects to pursue and provides information to manufacturers and suppliers about where their products may be needed.
The tool focuses on projects between Whistler and Hope, primarily in the industrial, commercial and institutional sectors. This new service offers VRCA members the most complete service available to any contractor or supplier, with information on any stage of the project up to and including the viewing of plans and specifications.
With more than 680 members, VRCA is British Columbia’s largest and most inclusive regional construction association, representing both union and non-union trade contractors, manufacturers, suppliers and professionals throughout the Lower Mainland from Hope to Whistler.
